Sibiu is a medieval town built 800 years ago as a crafters "burg". It is the most important settlement of the saxons in Transylvania. An authentic medieval environment, fortiffications, defense walls and towers, churches, the Brukenthal Museum -exceptional collections ranging from paintings, silvery, ceramics to etnography and folklore. In the Dumbrava Forres near Sibiu there has been since the XVIII-th century, a splendid national park with a Museum of Folklore and a Zoo garden. Sibiu is situated in the south-east of Transylvania along the Cibin river, between the Fagaras mountains(20km), Cibin and Lotru (12km) .
An important railroad node, Sibiu has an international airport with regular flights to Germany and Italy.
Also, two european roads pass through Sibiu : E 68 (Arad-Sibiu-Brasov) and E81 (Cluj-Sibiu-Pitesti-Bucuresti)

Balea Lac
The Balea Lake is a turistic place that is difficult to reach during the cold season; in the summer it becomes easily accessible though. The lake is situated at 2034m altitude and is 11 m deep. Inside the lake there live mountain trouts and it water reflects the grandiose peaks of the Fagaras Mountains that surround it.
From the Balea Waterfalls (40 m height), an ski-lift to the Balea Lake offers spectacular views.
By foot, you can travel from the Balea Lake to another glaciar lake , Capra with a depth of 8m, from this lake the waters runs into a smaller lake Capruta. The Capruta Waterfalls is a view that you can't pass by indifferently as it is a rare beauty.
